SMS Giveaway Day: Rainbow Charm PackWINNER!
Thank you to everyone who stopped by my blog and played in the giveaway. The winner out of 210 comments was #120, Lynne, who said:
I love a blog with beautiful pictures and lots of clean, white space like yours! Thanks for the great giveaway!
I’ve got two little girls and I do most of my sewing after they are tucked in bed for the night, you know, by moonlight. I just started this blog in January, so I’m definitely still figuring out the ins and outs of this sewing blog business, but I decided to jump head first into the deep end and host my first quilt along this summer.
So far, there’s been only a little bit of interest and I’m feeling a little bit lonely in the Flickr group, so if you’re looking for a unique sampler quilt, I’d love it if you would join us.
Here’s the deal. My family is going on this insane road trip this summer that involves a wedding, a Master’s thesis defense, a reunion with old friends, and an abundance of national parks. Over the course of two months we will make a loop through the country, traveling through 16 states in the process. Since there are quilt blocks which represent each state, I thought it would fun be to make a sampler quilt with all those state quilt blocks. Thus was hatched my idea for a Summer Road Trip Quilt Along.
And if you’re going to join a quilt along, you’re going to need a little fabric to get you started. I’ve been really crushing on rainbow projects lately, so I thought I would offer you a pack of 42 rainbow charm squares.
Unfortunately, I messed up the cutting, so now I’m offering 36 charm squares plus 6 5-inch x 4-inch rectangles. Sorry about that. Can we blame it on the fact that the day I cut the charms I woke up at 4am to run a half marathon?
To enter, leave me a comment. Tell me what you’re looking for in a sewing/quilt blog; what sorts of projects and posts would bring you back to visit again? I’m looking to improve my new space here, and I’m hoping you can help me do that, so if you have any suggestions about what could make this blog better, I’d love to hear those as well.
The giveaway is open to all and will close on Friday, May 25th at 8pm EDT. Please make sure your email address is in your comment if it’s not associated with your profile.
If you’d like, you can follow me on Twitter @moonlightsewing, or like my Facebook page. It’s brand spankin’ new (as in, I haven’t even told anyone it exists yet!), so you will be one of my very first fans!!
And one last thing, if you didn’t happen to come here from there in the first place, get ye over to Sew Mama Sew and enter all the other great giveaways for Giveaway Day!
I always look for fresh ideas on a quilt blog, how they apply the new vibe in quilt making to their gorgeous quilts or how they give a new twist to the traditional ones. It’s very refreshing. Btw, I love your blog.
I love when blogs have how-to’s and explain what they do to make their blogs better – helps the newbies out 🙂
M!
🙂 I have no comments, I’ll read your blog no matter what you write because I know you, and plus I am hopelessly addicted to blogs and have a hard time ‘quitting’ any of them. 🙂 I have some ideas for my quilt-a-long blocks we’re going to do… I’m kind of excited to have a schedule/direction/encouragement to make sure I am working in my sewing room a lot this summer. Goodness knows I don’t need another WIP, but that never stopped me before! 🙂 Now, I just have to choose my colors and pick up some fabric. I think I am going to challenge myself and work only with solids – which I’ve never done before. And I have something else in mind for these blocks, but that I’m going to keep a secret. 😉 I forgot it was Give-a-way time of year, good thing I just submitted all my spring semester grades last night!
ok, already having second thoughts about only working with solids… I’ll decide eventually, I suppose. Maybe it will be mostly solids with a few prints…
I’m so new to quilting, I need step-by-step tutorials with lots of pictures (video would be even better). I’ve been stalking quilting blogs and youtube videos for months now, building up my courage. Seriously, coordinating fabrics in a quilt is what scares me the most…I have this great fear I’m going to make a quilt that looks like the fabric fairy upchucked and I sewed it together.
When I’m following quilting blogs, I really love great photography and great stories. I like getting to know the person as well as hearing about the quilting process.

I love solids! And I so understand the miscuts, definitely been there. Thanks for the opportunity to win them. I like a blog that shows what you’re working on and the processes you use. I like a lot of color.
I love great photos (not professional but bright and cheery are good) and humour. Humour is very good! I am loving solids ever since I did the solids swap in the winter. I learned just how amazing they could be. Thanks for the giveaway.
I love to see great photos and have great instruction! Thanks, Jera
I love the name of your blog! I’ve got four homeschooled kids and do most of my sewing while they’re in bed. The only things that finally gets me to go to sleep myself is knowing that I have to be up before them in the morning. 🙂
I love blogs with tutorials and interesting posts — I’m more interested in hearing what makes a blogger tick than what new fabric she just bought. In the end, what keeps me coming back is a bloger who writes about the sorts of projects I want to do myself, or something so fabulously wonderful that I can’t wait to see what she does next.
I love reading blogs that not only show the quilt, but explain at least a little on how they did it. You have a cute blog and I plan on adding it to my reader!
I look for tutorials and helpful tips. Also, inspirational creations!
What I look for in a quilting blog is an ease of understanding for beginners like me. I’ve been sewing since I was a wee one but quilting is a new one on me. So much of what I read assumes you already know a little bit of what you’re doing, so I always *really* appreciate the ones that take the time to really break things down for novices. 🙂 xo
I am always looking for new ideas, some technic tutorials too and love some personal items at the time too. Awesome fabric! What a great give away, like to give that a change too! Thanks for organizing! Kind regards, Conny
Tutorials with great pictures are my favorite on a quilting blog. I also like when bloggers add their personality to the blog.
i like tutorials and WIP posts. they are my favourite.
thanks for sharing!
I love ideas, inspiration, colour, tutes, photographs, stories. Lovely giveaway 🙂
I love seeing finished quilts and tutorials.
Great pictures and personal content keep me coming back. I have left blogs when I feel that someone is just constantly posting sponsored posts. I understand people do that to make money but when it becomes every other post is something that is sponsored I no longer see the point in going back. So if people post things that are important to them even if it’s not always crafty stuff I will return again and again. Little Pink Monster is one of my favorite blogs. I think Natasha has found a way to blend her personal life posts and her crafty ones.
Love the charm pack ,great idea for the quilt! Thanks for the giveaway!
What an ambitious quilt project and summer travel plan! I would be interested in following your adventures but I am not a flickr swapper/sewer so the quilt along isn’t what would grab me. However, a travel tale ala the Griswolds…you have me at “hello.”
I love basics, as I’m just starting out!
I’m new to quilting too and after months of researching and following blogs I’m starting to build my stash. As a new quilter I love blogs that start with the very basics i.e. how to select fabrics, where to buy, how and why to pre wash and fold your fabric etc. I also love to see sewing spaces and advice on how best to set them up. Finally now that my stash is building I really need some inspiration or advice to make me cut it – I’m a little scared to run my fabric! Best of luck with your blog!
Your road trip sounds like a blast! I like a blog that shares it all, life stuff as well as quilty stuff. In the realm of quilty, I like tutorials and links to other good blogs.
I like tutorials and lots of pictures. Thanks!
One of the biggest things I like in a blog is consistency. If you post 12 things one week. don’t post for a week or so, then pop in and out… it is just a turn-off to me.
I like a blog where the blogger comes across as friendly and shares some of her personal life. I like when the blogger publishes regularly, a couple of times a week or more. Of course I like interesting quilt or craft projects shared, but that is very subjective. I like a blog that is family friendly, but not exclusively about the children.
I look for great photos and an authentic voice in a blog.
Lots & lots of photos both inspiration & WIP
thank you for the chance to win. I always like tutorials
As a brand new sewer who has only recently started her first quilting project I’m currently on the look out for fairly simple stuff.
Hi, I like to see lots of up close photos showing all the details in a step by step progression. Thanks for the chance to win. Linda
like tips…like to hear about process…
Love tutorials and seeing projects as they go.
I am more of a clothes sewist than a quilter, so I often find that I look for tutorials and ideas on drafting and embellishments. I’m not good at any of these things, so love to learn through others’ sharing. 🙂
I always love a good tutorial!
hi em!! found you from SMS, but of course i “know” you! i love solids, i dont care how they are cut! thanks for a chance at your giveaway…im still stunned thinking of your cross country trip this summer…i think doing a sampler of the state blocks is a great idea…for you! im not much of a sample fan…and im really concentrating on doing projects for me and my house this summer…like that picnic blanket i meant to do last year…and that tote bag i promised myself last month etc…oh yeah, and my alexander henry quilt. must get going! have a great trip! safe travels…will we be done with the round robin bee or will you need to forward your stuff around the country???
I love tutorials of course. But I also love to hear about the evolution of a project (how it all started, twists and turns along the way etc….) Hang in there!
I am always looking for cute, simple ideas with complete instructions for a beginner like me.
rsgrandinetti@yahoo(DOT)com
i just love a great tutorial-i’m gonna come back for your pincushion caddy. thanks!
Hello from Minnesota and from another new blogger. I started machine sewing in January and use blogs/pinterest/youtube as my instruction, inspiration, and direction. I love simple ideas, pretty photographs and bloggers who don’t mind telling you a story along the way.
Picture or video tutorials 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway!
melissajpalmer at yahoo dot com
I look for the same things in a sewing blog as I look for in any blog. I like to feel connected to the “voice” of the writer, I like nice clear pictures and I like to coo over projects and fabrics and I especially like links to tutorials and patterns or ACTUAL tutorials and patterns.
I really like the idea of the summer road trip quilt along. That’s different. Nobody else is doing that, and that’s what I like to see in a blog. I am also a sucker for stories that involve pets, usually draped all over a quilt or getting in the way. Plus, beautiful pictures of what makes you happy and what inspires you, as well as lots of step by step instructions for projects, photographed every step of the way. But above all… share your mistakes – why they happened and how we can all avoid them! So share, you are among friends. Thanks so much for asking.
Tutorials and free pattern, linky parties and lots of information for newbies.
Good luck with your new blog and have fun.
I love tutorials, but with comments about what can go wrong as well as how to do it. And tips for us new to sewing. 🙂
Your blog looks gorgeous. I’m new but I’ll be back. 🙂
thanks for the lovely fabric giveaway! aside from good quilty inspiration, I like blogs that are a good read/fun writing style
I love a mix of everything. Process pictures and tutorials and a litle bit of personal life mixed in. Thanks for the giveaway.
I always find tutorials and original quilt/block ides to inspire me keep me going back to a blog! 🙂 x
Glad to know that there is someone else who takes advantage of a quiet house in the cover of darkness and sews! I love the creative ideas found in blogs…while they might not be the project I create, they certainly jump start my creative process and get me going. 🙂
I like blogs that are clean and uncluttered with cute sewing and quilting projects. I have young kids at home, so I like things that don’t take lots of time to sew, and things I can make for my kids. Seeing the blogger’s personality come through on their posts is also really nice.
I love blogs with lots of tuts, being a newbie I search for things that help me become a better quilter. I love pics too.
Thanks,
Vicki R

First of all, thanks for the great giveaway and for participating. This is one of my favorite events of the year – I add more blogs to my blogroll! I enjoy seeing other people’s creative ideas – whether it’s quilting or other items like purses and bags. Tutorials are great, but just seeing ideas can be enough sometimes.
Also…pets. 🙂
Thanks again!
i love seeing photos of the design process and tutorials
I enjoy seeing accessories and clothing designs as well as helpful techniques and what is going on in the bloggers life that makes this piece so special (like your road trip quilt!) Thanks
I like to sew clothes for my kids mostly. I am interested in seeing quilts, bags, home decor projects and some sewing for myself too. So to in summary, I like everything. 🙂
Good luck with that crazy road trip!!!
I love tutorials and looking at the quilts the blogger has done themselves.
I like sew alongs although I often join in after the fact. I went over and checked yours out, it looks pretty nice, so I think I’m in. I have a hard time committing LOL. I like any kind of tutorial, I’m still learning so they help a lot. Thanks.
I look for blogs with tutorials. I love to see the process behind finished quilts.
lindsay(dot)forgette(At)gmail(dot)com
I always look for something new in a blog…I like to see what is new in fabric and techniques…and I am going to check out your QAL. Thank you for the giveaway. Please check mine out…
I love see the quilts and quilting that other people do
I love rainbows – so happy!
I love hearing the stories behind the projects – the whys, hows and the mistakes… even the stories of how they chose where to take a picture of the finished product 🙂 I just love connecting with bloggers, and bloggers are more than the finished product!
Your quilt a long sounds like fun. I would love to join, but I already have too many projects this year. :^((
I am always on the lookout for tutorials and/or tips on how to sew and quilt. Safe travels this summer!
For me, seeing previews of tutorials and content in a sidebar helps a lot. It gets me clicking more links.
Love seeing what other people are making and getting the pattern/instructions/tutorial for it. Oh and giveaways – everyone loves a good giveaway!!! Love yours by the way!!
I love tutorials, lots of pictures, and I like to hear what went wrong-and how you fixed it!
I like lots of tutorials and pictures!!
I love tutorials. I am a visual person too so the more photos the better.
Crikey, well done on the run, early start and charms! I would have cut my arm after that, not just the fabric (I am leathal with a rotary!) I love to see tutorials for quick projects
I really love a good personal story to go along with a project. How you came up with it, who it’s going to, why you picked the colors/fabrics that you picked.
Love art quilts and free motion quilts + machine embroidery stuff on bloggs
i like fun different tutorials and huge pictures.. 🙂
I like when blogs go through the whole process – choosing fabric, cutting tips, piecing, etc. — I’m new to quilting (just started this year) so I love knowing different ways that people process things to help figure out my own style!
I’m ALWAYS looking for tutorials.
I always look for pictures of completed projects that are modeled on a person. I also love sewing for children.
I’m all about tutorials with really good, detailed pictures… I’m a visual learner! Thanks for the chance to win!
I like we’ll rounded blog, a little a this and a little a that, and load of pictures 😉
I love to see finished projects 🙂
Great little girls clothes tutorials are what keep me coming back!
I love seeing finished projects, reading new tutorials, and seeing new fabrics.
I like blogs that have lots of lovely photos of projects to inspire me, and it’s even better when there are things to get involved with somehow (i.e. tutorials or sew-alongs), so I think you’re doing great! 🙂
I look for blogs that share their lives and creativity.
I love the name of your blog. And I think you are on the right track – for me anyway. I love blogs that have quilt-a-longs and/or tutorials. I’m always up for learning new things. I’m going to go check out your QAL right now. Thanks for the chance to win the charms (and rectangles – tee hee).
Good luck with the quilt a long! I’ve only been quilting a short time, it might be beyond my abilities. I like blogs with bright, vibrant colors and finished projects, tutorials, and fabrics that fit my tastes. That’s probably the most important thing.
I love your header! I do most of my sewing by moonlight too:). I get to bed late every night because I just can’t stop while the house is quiet and interruption free. Im new to blogging too, but what I look for in a blog is inspiring projects and feeling connected to the writer. You obviously have both of those so I think you will do quite well!
I enjoy sewing as a creative outlet, but I really like making items that are also useful – I’d like to learn how to make zip pouches, fabric containers/baskets/boxes, gift ideas, etc. Thanks for the chance to add a rainbow to my new stash!
I love to read about the creative process and see how beautiful projects get made, not just the final reveal. It’s fun to see how other people approach it and to have the chance to become really familiar with the projects from start to finish. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win and have a wonderful trip!
p.s. The Wyoming Valley is in Pennsylvania 😉
I like bag tutorials and projects for little boys. 😉
I always love finding inspiration on blogs. I like seeing what other people are doing and how I can tweak it to make it better/different/more like my style 🙂
I like shared projects, goals and inspirations.
I think for me something easy, fun, basic with pictures for me as beginner.
wcharp6739(At)att(dot)net
I love blogs that show their ‘mistakes’ as well as their successes, so these charms are perfect!
tutorials and pics. thanks for the chance to win!
I am still new to quilting so beginners tips for me!!
xo Steph
I like pictures and tutorials.
I like a bit of humour and some tutorials I guess. I love seeing what other people are up to for inspiration, both in pattern and colour combinations I might not have tried!
I love pics and tutorials. Thank you.
I love block tutorials and different ideas of layouts 🙂
hannah dot kitching at hotmail dot co dot uk
I love tutorials & also lots of process photos of different projects – from beginning to end. Thanks for the lovely giveaway, I love solids.
I love blogs that show WIP regularly, and then the final thing. I like to see the projects develop, with lots of photos along the way as well!
I love pictures of the finished quilts, & an occasional glimpse into a blogger’s life. Thanks for the lovely giveaway
I love when blogs have tutorials. And lots of pictures.
I love tutorials and seeing how other people use fabric combinations.
I mostly sew clothes for my kids, but I also like little projects – bags and such. I mostly look for good pictures to serve as inspiration, and cohesiveness. If a blog rambles too much, or if I can’t see a decent picture of the things they’re showing, I’m less interested. I also like Pinterest as much as blogs for this reason, so if you were to pin your best stuff, I would be more likely to click over from there.
I like pictures of progress as well as finished things.
I am looking for good inspiration and a good sense of humor!
I’m a brand-new quilter, so pictures of quilts for inspiration and tips and tricks so I can learn are very interesting to me.
I’ve followed you, too!
I usually scroll thorough reader until I hit an amazing photo I want to know more about., hoping there’s tutorial!
Picture tutorials are my fav, also I like to see personality in a blog.
I enjoy seeing tutorials, but mostly just love looking at finished projects…it’s that whole “eye candy” thing, I think. 🙂
I’m very visual so lots of pictures and fun tips
I love to see what your doing to get my own inspiration. We all love tutorials, but little tricks that you use to make things easier is great too.
Love your idea! I love seeing the whole process of creating in a blog, not just the finished products. Thanks for the chance to win!
I like to see tutorials of course, who doesn’t? But I also like to see what you’ve made, what you’re making, what you’re thinking of making, where you get your inspiration. Photos of holidays and family aren’t really my thing, though a bit of information about you and your family is good. Anyway, if you want to post photos of those things you should as everyone is diffferent and this is your blog!
Tutorials
Terrific giveaway! Thank you so much! I like to follow sewing blogs with lots of tutorials for children’s projects and home decor! 🙂
I’m all about tutorials. I love finding different ways to do things. Your way may be easier or better!

I love tutorials! Thanks for the chance.
Ideas for using pre-cuts. Thanks for the giveaway!
I love brightly colored projects. I also like it when there are step by step tutorials.
usually looking for new ideas or patterns.
Sorry, I won’t be joining the QAL as we’re moving house this summer and I’d be a fool to add more projects to my already bulging list! Have a fantastic trip, and thanks for this chance!
What I look for in a quilting blog is a lot of humor, not always perfect projects, great ideas, and lots of pictures. I get inspired and love to learn from others. I added your blog to reader just because you can admit a mistake in your cutting. Your like me human.
http://richardquilts.blogspot.com
I always looks for tutorials or tips on quilting or blogging. Thanks!
I love real-ness in blogs – so I love the fact you fess up to cutting 4×6 squares. Makes me happy that I’m not the only imperfect quilter on the planet:-)
I like logs that show what someone is currently working on or finished. A tutorial now and then and some pictures of non quilting things that make me smile. Good luck with your new blog.
i would love some quilting basics
I like seeing lots of different quilt ideas and projects – and new tips and tricks.
I just like looking at projects that are my style… that’s not helpful, though! Sorry! >_<
Thanks for the chance to win! 🙂
I really like to see new block patterns on quilting sites.:) Thanks for the giveaway!
I love tutorials, pics of completed quilts and just the thought process behind choosing fabrics!
I look for blogs with pictures of people’s WIP – I love seeing other people’s processes, and I feel likeim quilting along with them! Thanks so much for the chance to win – will be most interested to see how your US States quilt goes!
I think your road trip quilt along is a really great idea. I like to know a little bit about the quilter as well as see fabulous projects–quick things like pincushions or bags as well as quilts!
I like to see fresh ideas and projects relating to quilting and sewing. Good luck on your road trip.
I love tips and tricks that make life and sewing easier.
When i was in 7th grade, i got forcibly removed from home ec and placed in yearbook staff. so i never learned to even sew on buttons.
last fall, i decided i wanted to sew. so i bought myself a fancy sewing machine and built a fabric stash with black friday sales and coupons.
and i really, really want to sew a pieced quilt. but i am so terrified to get started! so for me, lots of tutorials… with lots of pics and details of EXACTLY what i am supposed to do next….
😀
I like tutorials and lots of photos. 🙂
I love free tutorials and patterns on blogs!
I love projects that are practical and not too hard to do, since I’m kind of a beginner.
I love the solids, simply gorgeous! Thank you!
Thank you for your generous giveaway. I could really use some rainbow colours in my stash! The blogs I like to visit are those that have tutorials for projects, quilt alongs and also ideas for colours and how to put them together in my sewing. Thanks!
I like hearing the thought processes behind projects, like how you decide to do a project and pick the fabric. Like your story behind the quilt along. By the way, how did you know that each state has a quilt block? That’s so fun, I had no idea. I also like hearing the bits and pieces of a blogger’s life. And wow, it looks like you get lots of sewing done at night.
i m looking for blogs of bag making and anything related to sewing.
thanks.
I love to see peoples projects, not just the finished product but the ongoing process. I also love to read about the trials that they encountered when sewing a particular project and reviews of books, tools etc.
Basically I am looking for the type of information you might share at a sewing group.
I love tutorials and easy how-to’s….with plenty of pictures!
Love the idea of your road trip quilt along!
And since you are a fellow WP user I’m wondering why I can’t easily see a fllow button?
When I’m quilting, I like to read about what someone else has done to improve the original quilt. It might be a shortcut or just a simple tip.
i love to see cute quilting projects and informative tutorials
I look for new ideas, helpful hints, and useful tutorials. I especially like learning about why people made the choices they did (for fabric colours etc.).
I like to see lots of pictures. hear about things that are happening in their lives, and get to feel like I know that person.
I like a blog with lots of eye candy – fresh ideas, tutorials, etc.
tutorials, giveaways and slice of life. Thanks.
I love tutorials and quick projects with lots of pictures. Thanks for the great giveaway!
tutorials, tutorials, tutorials!
Thanks for the great giveaway!
I really like to see new block designs and interesting use of color in quilts.
I love tutorials and pattern ideas, especially for paper piecing and mini quilts. thanks!
I like picture of projects and such. They inspire me 🙂
I like to hear about the inspiration for a project and the things that make you make adjustments as the project goes along, and I like lots of pictures. I also really love tutorials, because I’m somewhat new to quilting, and I need to learn how to do things! I think your quilt along idea sounds great, by the way, and if I had time to do a quilt along right now, I really would join it. Thank you for the giveaway!
I like to see tutorials and samples of the blogger’s creative work. Something else I like, but don’t find that often are sewing blogs that allow some of the unscripted charm of daily life seep in.
Thanks for the chance to win!
i would like some inspiration posts
I like to see tutorials, hints and tips on a blog
When I read a blog I find it interesting to hear how the blogger gets their ideas
I’m new to quilting so I always look for tutorials and basics. I love site that look attractive and are easy to find things. It also helps if I can see what the blogger’s style is right away and if I like their style then I’m more likely to keep coming back and see what else they’re doing.
I like to see new techniques or ideas to make the work easier or more fun. I also like to see your projects and hear why you made particular color choices. Generally I enjoy the comraderie of other quilters. And it is quite all right with me if you show your mistakes. We can all learn for those you know.
I love blogs that have beautiful quilts on them for inspiration, yes… but more than that I personally like the process blogs that get very chatty and sometimes go into other areas than quilting… so you get a picture of what that person’s like in real life.
First of all, I admire anyone who runs a half marathon! I like tutuorials that are heavy on the pictures but they have to be well written and fun too. Thanks for the giveaway!
I’m into all things quilty: snippets and photos of your work, tutorials, fabric, and tips. With little grandnieces, I like to see garments sewn for little girls. Humor, shorter posts that load fast (I’m on dialup), nothing political, and giveaways….. keep me returning to read.
I love blogs with lots of pictures, tips and things being worked on. Great giveaway!
I’m always looking for tutorials.
winterwrens at gmail dot com
since i’m a beginner, I love seeing tutorials with detailed progress photos.
Wow you have energy, I’m not surprised a couple didn’t end up square! I like to see ongoing and finished projects, as well as links to great projects or helpful tutorials so I can see where a blogger gets inspiration, and learn things while I’m there.
I love lots of pictures with fun projects that interest me! 🙂
I love a mix of tutorials, great pics for inspiration, seeing what you are working on and to get to know the blogger a little bit too.
I love a blogger who admits to her weaknesses and errors, lol!!
I’m always looking for little projects that can be done in a quilt style, like mug rugs and things like that!
I look for inspiring quilts and interesting tutorials (and giveaways don’t hurt, but they’re not necessary!) Enjoy your summer road trip!
I really just love to see pictures of finished projects – anything at all! It’s so inspiring. 🙂
I’d like to join your quilt along, but wonder how to keep up with posts? I recommend you add an e-mail subscription link in your sidebar. I always read every blog post that comes directly into my in-box and would never miss a beat if I could join that way. Just a thought!
I’m looking for hints, tips and tutorials for beginners to brush up their skills 🙂
kate1485 at hotmail.com
I’d love a weekly post dedicated to beginners! Tips, resources, basics, easy tutorials, little bitty not-too-overwhelming quilt-a-longs. Also: pattern reviews / recommendations, and interviews with various quilters or fabric designers. thanks for sharing the fabric!
I like all sorts of projects that give me inspiration
I think the Road Trip quil-along is a great idea! That’s exactly the sort of thing I like to see on a blog. An exciting story and something to associate with each block!
What I look for in quilting blogs is inspiration and, of course, to always leran samples from the more experienced ladies!
I love blogs that add tutorials for projects they have done and I also love when they add a little about their family life .Thanks for the chance to win.
I look mainly for pictures of finished modern quilts! It’s nice if there’s a quick how-to, but I like looking at the details of finished products more…
Heh – I actually just posted about this a day or so ago. The most immediate thing is not to drive me away – if I can’t see your text, or your page plays music, I’ll close the page before even seeing what you have. Secondarily: I read generally through a feed reader, so if you don’t let your posts be syndicated, I (with a few exceptions) will then unsubscribe. Past that… I tend to like traditional quilts or kids’ clothes/functional items sewing (I’ve got a baby), so I’m more likely to keep looking at you if I see you do one of those, but I subscribe to several people who do neither (and indeed a few – mainly ones I found through the SMS giveaway, sometimes through a link from someone else’s site – who hardly craft at all), as long as they’re at least one of the following: 1) interesting writers, 2) pretty pictures, 3) not overwhelmingly long posts (see: feed reader), 4) nice people, 5) process photos of things they make – love process photos!
My favourite blogs are those with a great sense of humour and fun bright projects. Do the projects you love doing though because that’s what will shine through! Thanks for the giveaway! I’m going to check out your Summer Road Trip QAL now…
Tutorials. New fabrics and how they’re being used. Thanks for doing this giveaway! 🙂
Since I’m a beginner, tips and tricks will always bring me back.
I like to see tutorials but not just of full size quilts. I like to make small quilted projects too.
tutorials and inspiration
I like a blog that includes a bit of personal life with the sewing/quilting. I like pretty pictures and occasional tutorials. I like new ideas, and suggestions for places to get materials.
I love seeing inspiration; finished projects, tutorials, fabrics.
I am looking for new project and love to see projects in progress.
I like posts which also warn you of mistakes (like cutting some of the squares as rectangles ;-)) so I get reminded to avoid pitfalls!
Tutorials are always a plus on blogs.
Thanks,

I am also new to quilting. Want to get started but the color ideas (what will look good together scares me) . I like how to’s but also short videos. Sometimes how to’s for sewing you dont get it just reading step by step instructions. PICS are great too. nice bright and big.

I love not-genious level quilt a longs. Also, there are never too many tutorials.
I like to see what people are working on, which fabrics they are using and tutorials. Anything for inspiration and learning new things.
New ideas and learning something new or something for beginners is always fun! Traveling, that sounds SO fun! Have a great trip and thanks for the post ^^
i look for great pictures and tutorials.
I like blogs that include a lot of quality photos of projects, or tutorials for interesting patterns/items, or tips on how to do a certain task. Some blogs I like have a mix of content i.e. sewing/baking/knitting.
Thanks for the giveaway!
