The 39 Week “Work in Progress”

I understand things have been quiet around Sewing by Moonlight. I’m thrilled to tell you about the “Work in Progress” that took 39 weeks to complete!

We welcomed our third daughter to the family 5 days ago. Aurora Diane was born this past Thursday at 2:41 in the afternoon. At 8 pounds, 7 ounces, she was nearly 2 pounds larger than her sisters were at birth! She entered the world gazing skyward, fully face first, and as a result, she was rather bruised and swollen her first day of life. She has fully recovered, and is beautiful and healthy with a full head of dark hair, amazing round baby cheeks, and the most elegant, tiny, long fingers.

Bruised baby, happy mama

Three sisters
Kaia is awake and gets to hold the baby. She’s thrilled with her “big sister” role!

And now … back to sewing! But less sewing by moonlight for me for awhile. I can barely keep my eyes open past 9.

Congratulations! She’s gorgeous and you all look so thrilled with her. My first baby came like that too, sunny-side-up. She had a big bruise on her forehead for the first few days, poor thing. I was glad the other natural birth I had came the more traditional way.
